This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the process that transforms delivered racks into approved clusters.
• Manage the cluster deployment playbook and guide its development, which includes staged bring-up, automated configuration push, link/optics validation, cabling verification against L1 port maps, and fault triage during deployment periods.
• Oversee deployment engineering across multiple concurrent cluster builds through team leads and on-site engineers.
• Collaborate daily with Data Center Integration field teams and cabling vendors.
• Enhance deployment efficiency by minimizing bring-up time through tooling, pre-staging, and eliminating sources of defects.
• Establish performance objectives for the team.
• Manage defect feedback processes to Network Engineering, Layer One, and vendors, ensuring partners are held accountable for resolutions.
• Specify requirements for spares, test equipment, and deployment tooling per site and standardize these across all sites.
• Oversee end-to-end cluster validation, which includes bandwidth/latency baselines, collective RCCL performance tests, burn-in criteria, and go/no-go acceptance criteria.
• 10+ years of experience in network deployment, cluster/HPC bring-up, or large-scale infrastructure delivery, including managing engineers in a field/deployment environment.
• Proven hands-on fabric bring-up experience at scale (hundreds of switches/thousands of links per deployment).
• Strong operational discipline: creating and enforcing playbooks, gates, metrics, and blameless defect processes.
• Leadership skills with accountability for schedules across multiple concurrent builds or sites.
• Experience in GPU cluster validation (NCCL/RCCL benchmarking) is preferred.
• Automation expertise (Python, Ansible) applied to deployment is preferred.
• Depth in optics/link-layer debugging is preferred.
• Familiarity with acceptance testing as a commercial gate (linked to revenue) is preferred.
