VP, Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical implementation for customer deployments, exercises, demonstrations, and evaluations in the US, acting as the primary technical escalation point.

• Directly assist in 3–5 deployments or technical engagements within the first six months.

• Develop deployment playbooks, troubleshooting manuals, integration checklists, and feedback mechanisms.

• Outline the US reference architecture, encompassing systems, data flows, security boundaries, deployment patterns, manufacturing interfaces, and sustainment requirements.

• Create ITAR-compliant engineering practices and pinpoint US-specific requirements alongside Global Engineering and US leadership.

• Convert customer feedback and field insights into a prioritized technical roadmap for the US.

• Execute architecture, security, and release readiness reviews; document technical decisions and address cybersecurity risks through resolution or approved mitigation strategies.

• Establish a consistent working relationship with Global Engineering to translate US customer insights into product enhancements.

• Design and develop the US technical organization, including setting hiring priorities, recruitment strategies, talent development, ownership, performance standards, and escalation pathways.

• Expand team capabilities to manage multiple customer programs simultaneously.

• Report directly to the US CEO and be a member of the Global Technical Leadership Team.

• Collaborate with the Global CTO and Global Engineering to align US customer requirements with engineering priorities.

• Personally engage in customer deployments, military exercises, software integrations, and on-premises installations during the initial 6–12 months.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in delivering complex technical programs for US Department of Defense clients, with a solid understanding of defense acquisition, security, compliance, and operational limitations.

• Practical experience in leading software deployments, systems integrations, troubleshooting, and customer-facing technical interactions.

• Willingness to actively engage in deployment, integration, troubleshooting, and customer-facing technical tasks while building the team.

• Strong judgment in systems architecture, including defining data and security boundaries and balancing customer-specific needs with a unified product framework.

• Experience in translating ITAR, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements into actionable engineering architectures and operational practices.

• Security-first mindset in engineering, with documentation and compliance evidence integrated into the delivery process.

• Experience in establishing engineering operational rhythms, prioritizing roadmaps, review processes, and ensuring delivery accountability.

• Proven ability to recruit, nurture, and lead technical teams effectively.

• Excellent communication skills across customers, business leaders, and global engineering teams.

• Experience in introducing an international technology platform to the US defense sector while maintaining shared architecture and engineering standards.

• Experience in delivering integrated hardware-and-software systems in operational or field settings.

• Familiarity with manufacturing readiness, including aspects such as testability, provisioning, and configuration management.

• Experience in building sustainment capabilities, including support tools, documentation, and long-term operational processes.

• Experience in forming technical partnerships with primes, vendors, or laboratories while safeguarding intellectual property.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of application.
