This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Oversee the end-to-end management of billing and payment platforms across DPI, GTV, and legacy systems.
• Take responsibility for platform stability and availability for residential, SMB, commercial, enterprise, and wholesale services.
• Guarantee precise rating, invoicing, bill generation, and bill delivery processes.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to uphold order-to-bill and service-to-bill trigger integrity.
• Propel billing data integrity, account alignment, service mapping, migration/coexistence accuracy, and the reduction of technical debt.
• Manage credit-card, ACH, and autopay payment-processing integrations and vendor relationships.
• Monitor and mitigate payment failures through instrumentation, root cause analysis, vendor escalation, and remediation efforts.
• Supervise refunds, chargebacks, closed-account limitations, manual corrections, reconciliation, and downstream financial accuracy.
• Collaborate with Finance/Accounting on billing compliance, audit assistance, and operational impacts.
• Ensure payment security and regulatory compliance, including coordinating PCI scope, evidence collection, and remediation efforts.
• Lead incident response and problem management for billing/payment defects and customer escalations; produce root cause analyses and preventive measures.
• Define and implement an AI-first modernization strategy for exception handling, billing engines, and payment gateways.
• Govern cross-functional billing and payments activities across Product, Care/CX, Operations, Finance, ERP, and Engineering.
• Execute additional responsibilities as needed to support the business and its evolving needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related area.
• At least eight years of progressive experience in billing, payments, revenue systems, or fintech/telecom monetization platforms, with ownership of mission-critical production systems.
• Minimum of three years in people leadership and/or cross-functional leadership with accountability for outcomes.
• Experience working within a multi-platform ecosystem with various billing engines, payment gateways, and downstream finance/ERP integrations.
• Strong knowledge of authorization, settlement, funding, disputes/chargebacks, ACH files, and reconciliation processes.
• Proven experience leading incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis for customer- and revenue-impacting production challenges.
• Capability to minimize manual interventions through process redesign, automation, and platform enhancements.
• Experience collaborating with Finance/Accounting and internal audit on controls, compliance, and data accuracy.
• Ability to manage vendor relationships and their deliverables, including SOWs, change orders, SLAs, and escalations.
• Excellent communication skills to align executives and operational teams on priorities, trade-offs, and delivery plans.
• Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree, experience in telecom/subscription/usage-based billing, PCI program experience, familiarity with Netcracker/DPI/GTV, revenue-system observability, AI/ML or intelligent automation experience, and knowledge of APIs, event-driven integrations, and data pipelines.
