Senior Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate customer contracts and communications to ascertain appropriate billing procedures.

• Manage invoices and credit memos for complex or atypical billing situations.

• Offer guidance and assistance to colleagues on invoice processing workflows within Zone.

• Assess team-generated invoices for accuracy prior to dispatching them to clients.

• Address customer billing questions through email correspondence.

• Execute daily cash application by reconciling and recording customer payments against invoices.

• Follow up with overdue accounts and facilitate escalations with Fund Admin/CX.

• Track AR aging and alert the Billing & Collections Manager to potential at-risk balances.

• Propel process enhancements and workflow optimizations within Zone.

• Handle increased workloads during peak billing cycles for Fund Admin.

• Collaborate with Deal Desk on contract structuring and with Fund Admin/CX regarding billing and collections.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance productivity and efficiency across billing, cash application, and reporting processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of professional billing experience, especially with complex billing scenarios.

• Capacity to analyze ambiguous contract terms and establish exact billing implications.

• Hands-on experience with Zone or a comparable NetSuite-integrated billing software.

• Capability to train and mentor team members on billing workflows.

• Expertise in cash and payment applications, including the matching and posting of customer payments to invoices.

• Acquainted with Salesforce for contract, account, and opportunity information.

• Experience with AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT and Claude is beneficial.

• Background in collections is a plus.

• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to guide peers without formal authority.

• Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Proactive in seeking clarification through thoughtful questions.

• Previous experience in Services and SaaS environments preferred.

• Resourceful with the ability to independently explore and resolve inquiries.

• Competent in functioning effectively within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, particularly related to Fund Admin calculations, is advantageous.
