Senior Manager, AI Forward Deployed Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand a high-performing AI forward-deployed engineering team.

• Recruit, mentor, and establish team structures that support long-term growth and scalable execution.

• Influence Product, R&D, and GTM by leveraging customer insights and delivery experiences to shape the product roadmap and GTM strategy.

• Cultivate and enhance executive relationships with key customers and partners, including stakeholders at the VP+ and CIO/CDO levels.

• Serve as a trusted advisor during intricate technical engagements and AI transformation initiatives.

• Collaborate with Field Engineering and Sales leadership on strategic account planning and cross-functional delivery.

• Drive strategic AI initiatives, practice development, and scalable delivery methodologies.

• Own OKRs related to AI-services-led accounts, revenue, utilization, and public references.

• Represent Databricks as a thought leader in AI through speaking engagements and published materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and managing high-performing teams of AI/ML scientists, engineers, and leaders.

• Ability to define, sell, and execute technical engagements within enterprise settings.

• Experience in handling escalations and ensuring positive customer outcomes.

• Strong, up-to-date technical expertise in AI/ML fundamentals.

• Experience leading teams that have successfully delivered production AI solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.

• Demonstrated success in developing strategies with senior executive stakeholders.

• Experience driving AI transformations for enterprise customers.

• Background working collaboratively across Sales, Product, and GTM teams.

• Graduate degree in a quantitative field (such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.

• Candidates should anticipate traveling at least once a month.
