This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +43 more states.
β’ Perform strategic analysis and peer evaluations.
β’ Develop and maintain tools for planning processes, pricing strategies, and risk assessments.
β’ Offer technical expertise and support for financially sustainable business operations.
β’ Participate in strategic initiatives and planning related to Medicare.
β’ Manage tools and processes that support internal stakeholders.
β’ Review and certify Medicare Advantage bids if qualified for American Academy of Actuaries membership.
β’ Instruct and mentor direct reports in technical skills and knowledge of the Medicare program.
β’ Compute financial outcomes utilizing mathematics, probability, statistics, finance, and business principles.
β’ Negotiate, evaluate, and/or develop capitation or premium rates with state, federal, and private entities.
β’ Supervise health plan performance, identify trends, and propose enhancements.
β’ Investigate new business prospects and legislative modifications.
β’ Present findings related to pricing, risk, and opportunities to internal business partners.
β’ Formulate actionable recommendations for management consideration.
β’ Lead cross-departmental teams in addressing organizational challenges.
β’ Suggest changes to policies and procedures and undertake other assigned responsibilities.
β’ Supervise 2β4 direct reports.
β’ Minimum of 6 years of actuarial experience.
β’ Fellow or Associate designation from the Society of Actuaries is mandatory.
β’ A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required.
β’ Membership in MAAA is highly preferred.
β’ Actuarial experience in healthcare and Medicare Advantage is essential.
β’ Proficiency in cost trend analysis, bid development, and actuarial tool creation.
β’ Advanced skills in Excel, including arrays, PivotTables, VBA, and queries.
β’ Familiarity with SQL.
β’ Experience with SAS.
β’ Capability to utilize AI tools for actuarial analysis and decision-making.
β’ Preferred, but not mandatory, ability to work in ET/CT time zones.
β’ If qualified for American Academy of Actuaries membership, the ability to review and certify Medicare Advantage bids.
