Staff Actuary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +42 more locations.

📋 Description

• Engage in the implementation, upkeep, and fundamental analysis of actuarial models, studies, and systems.

• Utilize actuarial principles in pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting, and various actuarial functions.

• Execute, construct, and evaluate outcomes of basic models.

• Enhance oral and written presentation capabilities.

• Acquire foundational business and actuarial concepts.

• Prepare documentation, facilitate training and development sessions, and take part in presentations.

• Work remotely from home.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics; other Bachelor's (or higher) degrees may be considered.

• Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).

• Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

• Minimum of 3 years of actuarial experience.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to create effective documentation, facilitate training and development, and participate in presentations.

• Proficiency in PC applications including Word and Excel.

• Experience with commercial health insurance products is preferred.

• Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills are preferred.

• Experience in translating complex analytics for both technical and non-technical audiences is preferred.

• Proficient in Tableau, SQL, and advanced Excel is preferred.

• Background in network analytics, open enrollment analysis, or healthcare data reporting is preferred.

• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with clients and stakeholders is preferred.

• Experience in health plan, payer, consulting, or healthcare analytics is preferred.

• Must be able to work remotely from anywhere within the continental United States, excluding California, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii.
