Senior Manager, Accounting Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive accounting operations, encompassing accounts payable, payroll, and disbursement-related workflows.

• Guarantee precise and timely payments to vendors, employee payroll, commissions, and reimbursements.

• Develop and enforce service level agreements (SLAs), controls, and escalation procedures.

• Maintain accuracy in vendor master data, payment processes, and payroll integrity.

• Create and implement standardized, scalable processes for accounts payable and payroll.

• Reduce manual tasks, mitigate risks, and enhance cycle times.

• Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation to ensure consistency and readiness for audits.

• Incorporate newly acquired clinics into existing accounting workflows.

• Manage and refine accounts payable, payroll, expense management, and disbursement systems.

• Propel automation and improvements in workflows.

• Ensure operational systems align with the general ledger.

• Supervise accounts payable and payroll activities during monthly closings, including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations.

• Maintain internal controls, approval workflows, and segregation of duties.

• Provide support for audits, lender inquiries, and due diligence processes.

• Oversee and forecast cash outflows in collaboration with Finance leadership.

• Track disbursement trends and synchronize payment timing with business requirements.

• Lead, mentor, and expand the accounting operations team.

• Establish expectations for performance, timelines, and quality.

• Act as the escalation point for vendor, employee, and internal concerns.

• Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, HR, and Operations teams.

• Assist with compensation frameworks, commission calculations, and payroll initiatives.

• Serve as the primary finance partner for payment and payroll-related issues.


⛳️ Requirements

• A valid CPA is required.

• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience.

• Experience in environments driven by acquisitions or backed by private equity.

• Significant expertise in multi-entity, multi-location accounting and financial reporting.

• Strong operational and process-oriented approach.

• Capability to scale workflows in a high-growth setting.

• Effective communicator who fosters accountability.

• In-depth understanding of internal controls.

• Proactive and solution-focused attitude.

• Familiarity with acquisition integrations, audit support, and lender reporting.

• Strong grasp of GAAP, internal controls, and audit standards.

• Proficient in NetSuite, Ramp, and payroll platforms.
