Senior Mainframe Technical Consultant

📋 Description

• Offer senior-level technical expertise across mainframe infrastructure software, disciplines, environments, and best practices.

• Provide guidance and recommendations to management and clients regarding infrastructure architecture and applied systems and software services.

• Achieve measurable outcomes related to customer satisfaction, financial performance, process enhancement, professional growth, and leadership for Broadcom.

• Support account directors and solution architects in the technical qualification of solutions and their advantages.

• Comprehend customer technology requirements and partner offerings, then design suitable solutions.

• Establish relationships across customer and partner IT divisions to understand and document infrastructure challenges and project impacts.

• Execute or coordinate intricate product integration demonstrations and proofs of concept.

• Maintain extensive technical knowledge of Broadcom's mainframe division products.

• Create technical specifications and requirements documentation.

• Present the benefits and technical differentiators of Broadcom solutions.

• Provide technical leadership during trials, proofs of concept, and complex presentations.

• Cultivate relationships with customers and partners to generate references.

• Analyze user and data requirements, delivering solution modeling and implementation.

• Review solution plans, assessing designs, upgrades, conversions, and implementation strategies.

• Conduct comparative evaluations of hardware and software.

• Troubleshoot technical solutions and offer post-implementation support.

• Consult on technical areas of infrastructure management and recommend actions to customer management and technical teams.

• Communicate innovations and trends in infrastructure management solutions.

• Script or code quick implementations to facilitate product conversions.

• Collaborate effectively and manage virtual teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.

• Additional skills such as REXX, COBOL, or HLASM coding are mandatory.

• Willingness to travel to client sites is necessary.

• Familiarity with mainframe infrastructure management concepts and practices is essential.

• Understanding and experience with Broadcom Software mainframe products or similar technologies is required.

• Proficiency in REXX and/or HLASM programming languages is necessary.

• Over 10 years of experience with Broadcom Software mainframe products or similar solutions.

• More than 10 years of experience with z/OS.

• Familiarity with BMC, IBM, and Rocket mainframe products is advantageous.

• Experience with z/VSE and z/VM is a plus but not essential.

• Ability to listen to client needs and translate them into business objectives and goals.

• Capability to provide written communications regarding build and integration instructions, task status updates, and knowledge transfer guidelines.

• Ability to adhere to a communication plan established by the project manager.

• Skill in documenting project statuses, task progress, and build and integration outcomes clearly in writing.

• Proficiency in delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations both internally and externally.

• Understanding of major subsystems such as JES, CICS, MQ series, DB2, IMS, and VSAM.

• Knowledge of enterprise security managers including ACF2, TSS, and RACF.

• Capability to implement or upgrade Broadcom Software infrastructure products like SYSVIEW, OPS/MVS, NetMaster, Mainframe Application Tuner, and Common Services.
