This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +4 more states.
• Oversee and maintain enterprise Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases within both production and non-production settings.
• Manage structural modifications, application deployments, and database transitions.
• Enhance database performance by performing SQL tuning, access path analysis, providing index recommendations, executing RUNSTATS, REORG, and conducting resource utilization assessments.
• Design and implement automation solutions to streamline database administration workflows, boost operational efficiency, and support legacy activities.
• Supervise database backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery operations.
• Develop disaster recovery documentation and execute testing procedures.
• Assist with Db2 Function Level upgrades, version transitions, RSU maintenance, and the execution of database utilities.
• Address database support inquiries, change requests, audit questions, and production incidents.
• Engage in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Offer technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and support to development, infrastructure, and application teams.
• A minimum of 5 years of direct experience as a Db2 for z/OS Database Administrator.
• Proficiency in database design, upkeep, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and production support.
• At least 3 years of experience with Db2 Administration Tools, including Query Monitor, OMEGAMON, and Db2 utilities such as LOAD, UNLOAD, RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, RECOVER, and SPUFI.
• More than 3 years of advanced SQL performance tuning, access path analysis, query optimization, and index management in Db2 z/OS environments.
• Over 3 years of experience in JCL development, DBA job scheduling, and providing 24x7 production on-call support in large-scale mainframe settings.
• At least 1 year of experience in designing, implementing, or supporting database replication solutions within complex enterprise environments.
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent professional experience.
• A high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• Preferred: Knowledge of IDMS Database Administration.
• Preferred: Experience with Db2 Distributed (DDF) support.
• Preferred: Support for z/OS Db2 maintenance and upgrades.
• Preferred: Experience in developing and supporting stored procedures.
• Preferred: Experience with REXX scripting.
• Capability to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
