Database Administrator – SAP HANA, SAP Basis

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide operational assistance for highly available SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA landscapes, which includes system administration, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

• Execute SAP HANA installations, revision upgrades, backup and recovery, system replication administration, tenant database management, user and role administration, security hardening, as well as system copy or refresh tasks.

• Support SAP NetWeaver ABAP and S/4HANA administration, which encompasses kernel and support package maintenance, transport management, client administration, background job management, RFC connections, spool administration, and application availability verification.

• Manage and troubleshoot SAP Cloud Connector, including subaccount configuration, high availability setups, certificates, trust relationships, access control mappings, virtual host and port settings, and connectivity between on-premise or private cloud systems and SAP BTP services.

• Assist with SAP Analytics Cloud connectivity and integrations with SAP HANA and SAP S/4HANA, which involves live connections, import connections, agent connectivity, authentication, certificates, and end-to-end troubleshooting.

• Configure, operate, and resolve issues with SAP HANA Smart Data Integration and Smart Data Access, which includes Data Provisioning Agent installation and upgrades, remote source setup, flowgraphs, replication tasks, subscriptions, adapters, and monitoring replication.

• Diagnose SDI replication latency, failed tasks, connectivity problems, certificate issues, source or target database errors, and data consistency challenges; collaborate with application and network teams until resolution.

• Understand and provide support for network infrastructure involving firewalls, load balancers, DNS, proxies, DMZs, private connectivity, and third-party cloud environments.

• Implement and manage SSL/TLS certificates, which includes handling certificate requests, deployment, renewal, trust-store maintenance, and troubleshooting secure communication problems.

• Create and maintain operational procedures, architectural documentation, runbooks, recovery procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.

• Engage in incident response, change management, disaster recovery drills, capacity planning, and on-call support as necessary.

• Investigate unfamiliar issues independently, collaborate across infrastructure, security, network, and application teams, and drive challenges to resolution in regulated settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of hands-on experience in SAP HANA database administration and SAP Basis support.

• Extensive experience in supporting SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SDI/Data Provisioning Agent integrations.

• SAP HANA, SAP Basis, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, or SAP Analytics Cloud certifications are highly preferred.

• A master's degree is preferred.

• Experience in supporting SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Basis, and cloud-connected SAP applications within enterprise environments is preferred.
