This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +8 more states.
• Administer, oversee, and enhance DDPS/PRS database environments, which includes AWS Redshift Serverless, Snowflake, Amazon Athena, and relational databases.
• Conduct performance tuning for databases, optimize queries, manage indexes, and handle workload management.
• Oversee database backup, recovery, and configurations for high availability.
• Validate the integrity of backups and assist in disaster recovery testing, ensuring compliance with RTO/RPO standards.
• Provide support for Databricks workspace administration, encompassing cluster management, job scheduling, and monitoring the performance of notebooks and pipelines.
• Design and maintain database schemas, stored procedures, and scripts for data migration.
• Ensure compliance of database environments with CMS ARS security protocols, which include encryption, access control, audit logging, and vulnerability remediation.
• Assist in database testing using DBFit/FitNesse.
• Collaborate with the QA Manager on data quality validation and the management of test-environment databases.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in database administration.
• At least 3 years of experience with cloud data platforms.
• Practical production experience with AWS Redshift Serverless and Snowflake for large-scale data warehousing.
• Familiarity with optimizing queries in Amazon Athena and managing Amazon S3 data lakes.
• Experience in administering Databricks clusters and workspaces.
• Proficient SQL skills for performance tuning, schema development, stored procedures, and data migrations.
• Knowledge of database security controls, including encryption, IAM-based access, audit logging, and vulnerability remediation.
• Capability to pass required CMS and internal background checks for public trust.
• Must reside in one of the designated U.S. states: Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Tennessee, Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, or Texas.
