Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Slovakia.

📋 Description

• Design and develop foundational machine learning systems for an innovative, forward-thinking AI platform.

• Take ownership of projects from inception to completion, including data curation, model training, evaluation, inference, and ongoing iteration.

• Convert state-of-the-art research ideas into reliable, high-performance production systems.

• Utilize live production signals and data to diagnose model anomalies and identify system bottlenecks.

• Implement systems, assess real-world performance metrics, optimize methods, and iterate swiftly.

• Collaborate with research, engineering, and product teams to transform technical achievements into user benefits.

• Guide fellow engineers and perform thorough code and technical reviews.

• Establish a high benchmark for technical judgment through active execution.

• Enhance model architectures considering latency, computational expense, system reliability, and safety on a large scale.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Machine Learning position.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Familiarity with PyTorch and/or JAX.

• Experience with GPU-based training and inference systems.

• Proven track record of building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning systems that are actively utilized in real-world settings.

• Strong practical knowledge of the behavior and failure modes of modern ML models in live production environments.

• Capability to address model edge cases effectively.

• History of writing clean, robust, production-quality code.

• An architectural perspective that goes beyond basic scripting.

• High level of self-direction and initiative.

• Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex technical projects from concept to execution.

• Quick to grasp new concepts.

• Skilled in clearly communicating technical trade-offs.
