Machine Learning Engineering Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop the machine learning engineering framework for the function.

• Automate data pipelines and processes for retraining.

• Implement model versioning alongside a model registry.

• Establish ongoing monitoring for models in a production environment.

• Design and enhance machine learning algorithms.

• Model, optimize, and continuously enhance the performance of models in production.

• Deploy models to production and ensure their reliability at a scale of hundreds of thousands of calls daily.

• Utilize production data to inform accuracy objectives.

• Directly manage a team of three individuals.

• Conduct one-on-one meetings, provide constructive feedback, support career advancement, and oversee task prioritization.

• Incorporate industry best practices into ML engineering methodologies.

• Link the team's efforts to business outcomes and product teams.

• Stay actively involved and contribute code.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in traditional machine learning, with proprietary models deployed in a production environment.

• Proficiency in modeling, tuning, and continuous performance improvement.

• Experience in deploying models to production and maintaining them post-deployment.

• Hands-on MLOps experience, including containerization, model versioning and registries, orchestration, and retraining pipelines.

• Demonstrated experience in leading teams.

• Strong, open, and assertive communication skills.

• Proficiency in Python and its standard ecosystem.

• Preferred: experience in applied computer vision, segmentation, classification, OCR, and fine-tuning vision foundation models.

• Preferred: background in fraud prevention, KYC, biometrics, document analysis, or risk assessment.

• Preferred: experience in establishing an ML practice from the ground up.

• Preferred: familiarity with lean environments.

• Preferred: ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business functions.
