Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Design and develop fundamental machine learning systems for an advanced AI platform.

• Manage projects comprehensively, from data curation and model training to evaluation, inference, and ongoing iteration.

• Convert research ideas into robust and reliable production systems.

• Utilize live production data and signals to identify and resolve model anomalies and system bottlenecks.

• Deploy systems, assess real-world performance metrics, refine methodologies, and iterate swiftly.

• Collaborate with research, engineering, and product teams to convert technical milestones into user value.

• Guide fellow engineers and conduct thorough code and technical reviews.

• Enhance model architectures to optimize for latency, computational cost, reliability, and safety at scale.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a Machine Learning role.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Experience with PyTorch and/or JAX.

• Knowledge of GPU-based training and inference systems.

• Proven experience in building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning systems utilized in real-world scenarios.

• Strong practical understanding of modern ML model behavior and potential failure modes in a live production environment.

• Capability to manage production edge cases effectively.

• A history of writing clean, robust, production-grade code with an architectural perspective.

• High level of self-direction and initiative.

• Established ability to independently lead complex technical projects from concept to launch.

• Quick to grasp new concepts.

• Skill in clearly communicating technical trade-offs.
