Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design and implement comprehensive machine learning models, including binary classification and regression, aimed at detecting and preventing financial crimes during transaction processing and client onboarding.

• Collect requirements, create prototypes, and deploy models into production environments.

• Take ownership of the Dynamic Risk Score across all markets and ensure its continual evolution.

• Conduct daily scoring of the entire client base to facilitate informed decision-making throughout the client lifecycle.

• Oversee transaction rules using machine learning-driven detection, enhancing their effectiveness and managing alert volume.

• Set up ongoing monitoring of model and rule performance in a production setting.

• Create a champion-challenger framework to maintain the most effective model in operation.

• Assist in the development of infrastructure for the operationalization of machine learning models and inter-service interactions.

• Deploy, manage, monitor, and enhance the production machine learning product.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Full-stack Data Scientist.

• Experience in deploying production systems, including API services such as FastAPI.

• Proficient in SQL and Python.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms like Databricks.

• Strong architectural capabilities for infrastructure that supports models of various complexities.

• Experience with model monitoring and champion-challenger or A-B evaluation in production environments.

• A quantitative background in mathematics, engineering, economics, or computer science.

• Full working proficiency in English.

• Knowledge of graph modeling or experience with foundation models/embeddings is advantageous.

• Ability to work independently and proactively in a start-up environment.
