Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design and implement comprehensive machine learning models, including binary classification and regression, aimed at detecting and preventing financial crimes during transaction processing and client onboarding.

• Collect requirements, create prototypes, and deploy models into production environments.

• Take ownership and enhance the Dynamic Risk Score (DRS) across all markets, providing daily scoring for the entire client base.

• Oversee transaction rules utilizing ML-driven detection, while optimizing performance and the alerts generated.

• Set up ongoing monitoring of model and rule performance within production settings.

• Develop a champion-challenger framework to ensure the most effective model remains active.

• Engage in the development of infrastructure for the operationalization of ML models and inter-service communications.

• Serve and infer models with varying degrees of complexity.

• Deploy, serve, monitor, and enhance a production ML product that facilitates quarantine, alert suppression, and future credit assessments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Full-stack Data Scientist.

• Experience in production deployment, including API services like FastAPI.

• Proficient in SQL and Python.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Databricks.

• Strong architectural skills; capable of designing and enhancing infrastructure to serve models of varying complexities.

• Experience with model monitoring and champion-challenger/A-B testing in production environments.

• Educational background in quantitative fields such as math, engineering, economics, or computer science.

• Full working proficiency in English.

• Exposure to graph modeling or foundational models/embeddings is an advantage.

• Critical thinking, analytical mindset, proactive approach, results-driven, and comfortable working independently in a startup environment.
