Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive full-stack machine learning models, including binary classification and regression, aimed at detecting and preventing financial crime during transaction processing and client onboarding.

• Collect requirements, prototype solutions, and implement models in a production environment.

• Take ownership and enhance the Dynamic Risk Score (DRS) across all markets.

• Conduct daily scoring of the entire client base to facilitate decision-making throughout the client lifecycle.

• Oversee transaction rules utilizing ML-driven detection and optimize both performance and alert volume.

• Set up ongoing monitoring of model and rule performance in a live production environment.

• Develop a champion-challenger framework to ensure the best-performing model remains active.

• Contribute to the development of infrastructure for operationalizing ML models and facilitating inter-service interactions.

• Deploy, manage, monitor, and enhance production ML systems as part of a small team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Full-stack Data Scientist.

• Hands-on experience with production deployments, including API services like FastAPI.

• Proficient in SQL and Python.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms, such as Databricks.

• Strong architectural skills to design and enhance infrastructure that supports models of varying complexity.

• Experience with model monitoring and champion-challenger / A-B testing in a production environment.

• Educational background in quantitative fields such as math, engineering, economics, or computer science.

• Full professional proficiency in English.

• Experience in graph modeling or with foundation models/embeddings is a plus.

• Strong ability to work independently, driven by results, and thrive in a start-up environment with minimal supervision.
