Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, train, and assess models for forecasting, ranking, and recommendation tasks within order management.

• Engage in all aspects of problem definition, data preparation, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and retraining strategies.

• Convert product roadmap objectives into clearly defined modeling challenges in collaboration with product management.

• Analyze customer data, optimize and validate models, and collaborate with implementation and solution engineering teams.

• Create reproducible Python training pipelines and maintain experiment tracking.

• Analyze, clean, and validate extensive enterprise SAP data.

• Prepare models and pipelines for deployment.

• Establish production monitoring protocols, including drift detection, performance regression indicators, and data quality assessments.

• Interpret model behavior and operational realities when production challenges occur.

• Embed model outputs into the product architecture via documented service interfaces.

• Employ responsible AI methodologies, encompassing bias assessment, explainability, and meticulous data management.

• Document models and convey their behavior, limitations, and trade-offs to engineers, delivery teams, sales, and customers.

• Evaluate peers’ modeling efforts and enhance standards for rigor and reproducibility.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven expertise in applied machine learning and data science, with models successfully deployed and assessed in production environments.

• Proficient in Python and experienced with PyTorch or TensorFlow, scikit-learn, pandas, and NumPy.

• Strong foundation in statistics, including experimental design and relevant evaluation metrics.

• Proficient in SQL and comfortable working with large relational databases.

• Experience in constructing scheduled data and feature pipelines that effectively handle complex source systems.

• Familiarity with packaging, documenting, and specifying model requirements for separate operations or platform teams.

• Comfortable engaging directly with customers and delivery teams.

• Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript adequate for integration with the product stack.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
