This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +4 more countries.
• Develop and contribute to components of the RAG system with guidance from senior team members, gradually gaining more autonomy.
• Create tests and assist in building evaluation harnesses.
• Produce code for AI applications, backend services, and data pipelines.
• Integrate AI components into backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Aid in deploying containerized systems to AWS utilizing CI/CD practices.
• Contribute to the creation of documentation, runbooks, and materials for client handovers.
• Engage in technical discussions and participate in architectural decision-making processes.
• Assist in model evaluation, exploring and enhancing failure modes.
• Gradually take on greater responsibility for components and technical decisions.
• Proactive and self-motivated; seeks clarity proactively instead of waiting for task assignments.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable navigating some ambiguity, with guidance from senior colleagues.
• Proficient in English at a B2+ level; able to collaborate effectively within distributed, multicultural teams.
• Practical experience in building or contributing to RAG systems, preferably in production or near-production environments.
• Strong engineering fundamentals; proficient in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Capable of being productive in an unfamiliar codebase with some initial support.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, S3, ECS, or similar services).
• Eager to develop skills in Bedrock and Bedrock AgentCore.
• Some familiarity with containers and CI/CD processes in practical projects.
• Exposure to the evaluation of non-deterministic systems and testing/evaluation cycles.
• Basic understanding of model and agent monitoring concepts.
• Awareness of cost and latency trade-offs associated with LLMs.
• Practical experience working with LLM APIs (such as Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or OpenAI) in real projects.
• At least 2 years of software or ML engineering experience, including some work with production systems.
• Strong foundations in AI/ML and an understanding of common model failure modes.
