This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
β’ Design, develop, assess, and refine machine learning training and inference pipelines for AI-powered music experiences.
β’ Assist in advancing ML pipelines to fully scaled, production-ready functionalities.
β’ Utilize machine learning and prompt engineering within intricate ML pipelines that incorporate large language models.
β’ Construct evaluation frameworks, including LLM-as-judge pipelines, to assess quality and facilitate rapid iteration.
β’ Collaborate with music subject-matter experts to generate training and reference data through synthetic creation, expert curation, and taxonomy development.
β’ Develop scalable systems that balance the speed of experimentation with the rigor of production, performance, reliability, and latency at Spotify scale.
β’ Work alongside Data Science teams to integrate evaluation frameworks with real-world usage signals to enhance model quality.
β’ Contribute to the technical direction and engineering best practices concerning model deployment, observability, experimentation, and production infrastructure.
β’ Engage cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, and music industry partners to craft new listening experiences for both artists and fans.
β’ Proven experience in applying machine learning within production environments.
β’ Practical experience with large language models, prompt engineering, evaluation systems, and deploying LLM-driven features in a production setting.
β’ Skilled in building and maintaining production ML systems using languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or similar.
β’ Familiarity with constructing large-scale data pipelines for sourcing, preparing, and evaluating training data.
β’ Experience with cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, Azure, or comparable infrastructure environments.
β’ Capability to articulate machine learning concepts, assumptions, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
β’ Background in developing user-facing products.
β’ Strong judgment regarding conversational AI and generative user experiences.
β’ Comfort with experimentation, iteration, and making data-driven product and engineering decisions.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
β’ Must be located within the Eastern United States region.
β’ Must operate within the EST time zone for effective collaboration.
