Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Advertiser Growth

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and enhance budget-pacing controllers utilizing PID and probabilistic forecasting techniques.

• Balance advertiser expenditures across different time zones and during traffic surges.

• Oversee the backend integration of Generative AI models, including Diffusion and LLMs, to facilitate automated image and video creative production.

• Develop and expand experimentation frameworks for A/B tests, switchback tests, and long-term holdouts.

• Assess the effects of marketplace changes on advertiser ROI and platform health.

• Design and manage high-throughput billing pipelines that process billions of events.

• Guarantee billing precision and financial reconciliation between real-time ad delivery and financial systems.

• Evaluate financial and marketplace data sets to enhance spending velocity and advertiser performance.

• Apply experimental findings to refine pacing and billing algorithms.

• Lead intricate, multi-quarter technical roadmaps while mentoring senior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in computer science or a related engineering field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 6 years of software engineering experience, including more than 3 years focused on ad delivery systems.

• Extensive background in constructing and managing large-scale, low-latency backend systems using programming languages such as Java, Go, or Scala.

• Strong knowledge of budget control systems, feedback loops, or spend-prediction algorithms.

• Demonstrated experience in building or enhancing experimentation platforms.

• Profound understanding of variance reduction, interference/network effects, and metric design within a marketplace setting.

• Experience with critical pipelines such as billing, payments, or clearinghouses.

• Experience or a strong technical interest in backend workflows for serving, scaling, and storing Generative AI models for creative asset generation.

• Proficiency in real-time stream processing using Kafka, Flink, or Spark, particularly in event-based charging and real-time performance feedback.

• Capability to lead complex, multi-quarter technical roadmaps and mentor senior engineers.

• Experience in leveraging AI as a strategic advantage in engineering while adhering to established best practices for code quality and security.

• Adequate proficiency in English for professional verbal and written communication.
