Senior Machine Learning Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the model lifecycle, including requirements gathering, experimentation, model development, evaluation, and model card creation, while collaborating with ML engineers on deployment and production infrastructure.

• Convert intricate fraud patterns into well-defined ML solutions by determining what to model, establishing success criteria, and identifying where ML provides benefits compared to simpler methods.

• Develop and sustain feature engineering pipelines essential for model development.

• Oversee model quality in production by monitoring performance over time, identifying data drift, and deciding when retraining is necessary.

• Collaborate closely with leadership, go-to-market teams, fraud operations, product, and engineering departments to define and implement effective fraud strategies.

• Promote a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and teamwork within the fraud and wider data science teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative area such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Physics, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing and deploying machine learning systems in production.

• Strong expertise in Python and SQL.

• A solid understanding of ML fundamentals including model selection, evaluation methods, feature engineering, and common pitfalls.

• Practical experience with PyTorch, scikit-learn, and XGBoost (or equivalent gradient boosting frameworks).

• Exceptional attention to detail, a strong intellectual curiosity, and a profound understanding of user behavior and fraud patterns.
