This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the ultimate operational oversight for final documents and funding, managing intricate disbursements while ensuring compliance with internal financial controls.
• Oversee the closing workflow, which includes package generation, fee reconciliation, and adherence to TRID timelines.
• Prepare and review Closing Disclosures, loan documents, and escrow instructions to ensure they align with federal, state, and investor regulations.
• Manage the entire funding process, encompassing wire requests, funding reviews, and authorization.
• Spearhead complex closing transactions as a subject matter expert in loan documentation, compliance, and funding.
• Utilize investor purchase conditions and post-closing quality control findings to guide the team and implement preventive measures for salability.
• Assist with post-closing functions, such as clearing investor conditions, following up on trailing documents, and resolving purchase suspense issues.
• Coordinate efforts with title companies, escrow agents, and borrowers.
• Collaborate with processing, origination, post-closing, compliance, and legal teams.
• Partner with engineering and vendor implementation teams on projects related to closing and funding systems, including defining requirements, validating configurations, conducting user acceptance testing, and addressing post-release issues.
• Support daily activities in closing, funding, and post-closing, while managing escalations effectively.
• Maintain the loan pipeline, tasks, and objectives, ensuring critical deadlines are met accurately.
• Contribute to the development of systems related to the mortgage process, enhancing document generation, funding, and investor delivery.
• Minimum of 4 years of mortgage loan closing and funding experience in a Senior or Team Leader role.
• Hands-on experience with post-closing activities, including addressing investor conditions, trailing documents, and resolving purchase suspense issues.
• Experience in a broker or correspondent setting is advantageous.
• Proficient in preparing wire orders and conducting funding authorization reviews.
• Strong knowledge of Loan Origination Systems (LOS), document preparation software, and closing platforms.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting XML and MISMO files.
• Familiarity with take-out investor delivery and purchase requirements.
• Understanding of warehouse line funding workflows.
• Experience in training and mentoring team members.
• Advanced understanding of federal and state regulations, including TRID and state-level disclosure requirements.
• Experience collaborating with implementation teams, engineering, and vendors.
• Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to adapt to changes within the industry.
