
Senior Litigation Paralegal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Assist attorneys throughout all stages of litigation, arbitration, regulatory, and investigative cases.
• Organize and oversee document collections, responses to discovery, and productions.
• Manage legal holds, preservation notices, and associated tracking processes.
• Maintain information related to matters within legal management systems and ensure data accuracy.
• Oversee litigation budgets, invoices from outside counsel, accruals, and reports on legal expenditures.
• Aid in handling subpoenas, garnishments, levies, and records requests across various jurisdictions.
• Conduct both legal and factual research utilizing Westlaw, PACER, court dockets, and internal databases.
• Review and provide summaries for pleadings, discovery materials, deposition transcripts, and other case-related documents.
• Create status reports on matters, dashboards, presentations, and reports for executive management.
• Assist in the preparation for trials, hearings, mediations, and depositions.
• Collaborate with internal business teams and outside counsel to gather necessary information and adhere to litigation timelines.
• Develop and refine templates, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
• Mentor junior paralegals and contribute to initiatives focused on litigation operations.
• Bachelor's degree along with a Paralegal Certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Over 7 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm, financial institution, or a sophisticated in-house legal department.
• Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures, discovery processes, and court filings.
• Experience in managing complex document collections and electronic discovery.
• Background in supporting outside counsel management, budgeting, and invoice evaluation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal matter management systems, PACER, Westlaw, and eDiscovery tools.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
• Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• High level of professionalism and capability to manage confidential information.
• Experience in financial services or banking litigation.
• Background in supporting complex commercial litigation, class actions, regulatory issues, or government investigations.
• Experience with legal operations, reporting, analytics, and process improvement initiatives.
