Senior Linux Administrator – Level 3 Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and uphold Ansible automation workflows for system administration, deployments, and configurations.

• Oversee and enhance Linux-based systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.

• Install, upgrade, and transition Linux, Unix, and AIX servers.

• Create Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and software deployments.

• Integrate Ansible automation with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.

• Manage enterprise automation environments utilizing Ansible and Puppet.

• Administer Infoblox and BIND DNS environments.

• Provide support for Unix/Linux server nodes in VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack, and Citrix Xen environments.

• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions.

• Troubleshoot issues related to Linux servers, networking, and automation scripts.

• Maintain documentation regarding automation processes, configurations, and system architecture.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance automation strategies and operational efficiency.

• Ensure adherence to security best practices and policies.

• Offer technical support to clients based in the United States.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in RHEL 6/7/8/9.

• Extensive experience with Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet, including the creation of deployment playbooks for server builds and application deployments.

• Proficient in Unix/Linux system administration, including HPUX, IBM AIX, RHEL, Suse, CentOS, Ubuntu, and MacOS.

• Experience in DNS administration using BIND and Infoblox.

• Solid understanding of networking principles, including Ethernet configuration, NIC bonding, TCP/IP troubleshooting, and packet analysis using Tcpdump/Wireshark.

• Familiarity with NTP, NFS server/client, SUDO, and LDAP client administration.

• Proficient in setting up and managing SFTP.

• Skilled in sh/csh/ksh/bash scripting, sed, awk, Python, and performance tuning.

• Experience deploying Unix/Linux systems in VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack, and Citrix Xen environments.

• Experience with Linux patching.

• Familiarity with ServiceNow environments is preferred.

• Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Unix/Linux server administration.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Relevant certifications are advantageous.

• Must be available to work in United States Eastern Time, from 8 PM to 6 AM EST.
