This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
β’ Oversee and resolve intricate employee exit processes with minimal oversight across various international regions.
β’ Offer expert advice on termination, resignation, transfers, employment contracts, redundancy procedures, and applicable employment laws and regulations.
β’ Lead and conduct meetings with clients and external employees, including consultations on workforce reductions, administrative hearings, separation negotiations, and discussions on termination outcomes.
β’ Influence and negotiate favorable resolutions in complex termination scenarios.
β’ Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders such as payroll, legal advisors, government agencies, and trade unions.
β’ Draft, customize, and manage termination and supplementary documentation.
β’ Ensure employee records are maintained in accordance with privacy and confidentiality standards.
β’ Manage offboarding processes using Remote's internal HRIS platform.
β’ Collaborate with teams in Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance.
β’ Provide informal support, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members.
β’ Offer insight on Employee Relations resources and navigate complex workplace situations.
β’ Conduct initial assessments of workplace issues and identify relevant regulations and potential solutions.
β’ Monitor and track employee relations cases and manage follow-up actions.
β’ Address inquiries regarding offboarding and initial employee relations concerns.
β’ Identify and implement process enhancements, automation, product development, and improvements in customer and employee experiences.
β’ Establish methods, procedures, and standards for new tasks and adapt complex techniques to achieve successful outcomes.
β’ Report directly to the Manager of Employee Lifecycle, Employee Relations & Transitions.
β’ Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, demonstrating generalist HR skills and involvement in the employee lifecycle.
β’ Tertiary qualifications in HR, labour relations, or employment law will be considered advantageous.
β’ Proven ability to manage voluntary and involuntary exits independently, demonstrating care, sensitivity, and compliance with legal standards.
β’ Experience providing HR guidance on employment laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
β’ Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline techniques, and fundamental workplace investigation practices.
β’ Capability to interpret and apply industrial instruments while analyzing complex HR challenges.
β’ Ability to independently research issues, devise practical solutions, and convert findings into actionable team resources.
β’ Skill in effectively communicating recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous and unfamiliar settings.
β’ Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation abilities.
β’ Proficient in independently steering challenging conversations to positive conclusions while upholding professionalism and strict confidentiality.
β’ Business-level (advanced) proficiency in written and spoken English.
β’ A strong inclination towards innovation, process enhancement, automation, and promoting best practices.
β’ Efficiency in operations with a strong emphasis on record-keeping and data integrity.
β’ Tech-savvy with the ability to collaborate asynchronously using various tools and adapt to changing systems.
β’ Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, international, remote environment.
β’ Willingness to adjust working hours as necessary.

β’ Strong abilities in automation and AI, with fluency in AI concepts.
