This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Oversee and address the full spectrum of employee exits across various international jurisdictions, ensuring an exemplary offboarding experience for Remote's clients and their personnel.
• Offer expert advice and manage client inquiries on a range of HR topics, including but not limited to termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes, while ensuring adherence to legal compliance and best practices.
• Facilitate and lead discussions with clients and external employees, including but not limited to workforce reduction consultation meetings, administrative hearings, separation negotiations, and settlement discussions, providing insights on terminations, and delivering final termination outcomes.
• Influence and negotiate favorable results in complex termination scenarios, balancing the interests of multiple stakeholders with potentially conflicting objectives.
• Collaborate with and coordinate various internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance during offboarding activities and audits, including but not limited to payroll, legal counsel, government entities, and trade unions.
• Draft, customize, and manage all termination and supplementary documentation with precision and detail, ensuring employee records are kept in strict accordance with privacy and confidentiality laws.
• Manage offboarding processes through Remote's internal HRIS platform, partnering with various internal teams, such as Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance, to ensure that all aspects of the employee exit are handled accurately and efficiently.
• Serve as the subject-matter expert and address internal and external inquiries regarding all offboarding issues in collaboration with Lifecycle's internal stakeholders.
• Guide clients through Remote's Employee Relations resources and guides, assisting them in understanding relevant policies and procedures.
• Conduct initial assessments of workplace concerns, pinpointing key facts and applicable local regulations.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper management of employee relations issues.
• Assist clients in comprehending progressive disciplinary methods and documentation necessities.
• Monitor ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring prompt follow-up and coordination with pertinent stakeholders.
• Actively identify and contribute to opportunities for process enhancements, automation, product development, and overall improvements in customer and employee experiences throughout the offboarding and employee relations processes.
• Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, equipped with generalist HR skills and exposure across the employee lifecycle.
• Demonstrated experience with a solid background in managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with care, sensitivity, and legal compliance; providing comprehensive HR support and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.
• Capability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze intricate HR issues, conduct research, offer practical solutions, and effectively communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders while navigating ambiguous and unfamiliar environments.
• Fundamental understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline strategies, and basic workplace investigation processes.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills, with the capacity to confidently steer challenging discussions to favorable resolutions, often involving parties with conflicting interests, while maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality.
• Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English, with additional language skills regarded as advantageous.
• Strong inclination and eagerness to innovate and enhance processes, perpetually identifying and implementing opportunities for automation and advocating for best practices.
• Operational efficiency, with a keen awareness of the significance of meticulous record-keeping and data integrity.
• Technologically adept, capable of collaborating asynchronously using various tools, and adapting to new and evolving systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an international team in a dynamic, asynchronous, remote environment with multiple priorities. Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
