This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
• Collaborate with the creative team to strategize level progression and difficulty curves that align with both player and business requirements.
• Utilize Unity and proprietary tools to craft innovative and diverse 3D levels for a worldwide audience.
• Design, iterate, and enhance gameplay experiences within the Level Design team and Levels Pod.
• Assist in planning and prioritizing tasks related to level design.
• Uphold high-quality standards while providing mentorship and guidance to fellow level designers.
• Establish level design guidelines tailored specifically to the game and its audience.
• Define and refine specifications for Level Design tools to enhance workflow and quality.
• Keep documentation updated regarding levels, level progressions, and ongoing level-related A/B tests.
• Contribute ideas for game mechanics, level assets, and thematic elements of levels.
• Collaborate closely with artists, animators, and programmers to bring level designs to life.
• Test and balance levels and progressions based on player feedback and data analysis.
• Ensure designs comply with the technical constraints and opportunities of the game engine.
• Assist in establishing and integrating an AI-driven pipeline to scale level production and optimize content generation workflows.
• A minimum of 4+ years of demonstrated experience in Level Design for 3D games.
• A portfolio showcasing the ability to create engaging and enjoyable levels.
• Proficient in Unity at an intermediate level or higher.
• Strong grasp of game design principles, particularly within the casual gaming genre.
• Experience or a genuine interest in leading and mentoring a team from the ground up.
• Background in continuous, data-driven level balancing and adjustments.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a creative approach to design challenges.
• Strong communication skills with the capability to articulate ideas clearly.
• Experience in designing open-world, outdoor 3D environments (preferred but not required).
• Experience in leading and mentoring a small team of Level Designers (preferred but not required).
• A degree in game design, computer science, or a related field would be advantageous (preferred but not required).
• Ability to work within the European Time Zone.
• Fluency in English is required as outlined in the application form.
