Senior Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Prepare, assess, and negotiate both U.S. and international commercial technology agreements, including SaaS subscription agreements, cloud services agreements, software licenses, Statements of Work, professional services and implementation agreements, as well as partner, reseller, and OEM agreements.

• Provide guidance to business units and leadership on matters related to software and technology contracting, commercial risks, licensing concerns, regulatory factors, and SaaS data privacy and security obligations.

• Assist in the development and ongoing enhancement of contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation strategies.

• Collaborate across departments with Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Product, Security, and Compliance teams.

• Oversee relationships with external legal advisors as necessary.

• Keep abreast of changes in U.S. and international privacy, technology, and commercial legislation and offer proactive advice to the business.

• Engage in internal training, knowledge-sharing, and initiatives aimed at process improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school in the U.S.

• Must be licensed to practice law in at least one state in the U.S.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial contracting, preferably within a SaaS or broader technology context.

• Comprehensive understanding of software, cloud, data, and commercial contract law.

• Knowledge of U.S. data privacy regulations, including CCPA/CPRA and various state privacy statutes.

• Acquainted with global privacy frameworks; familiarity with GDPR is advantageous.

• Exceptional skills in drafting, negotiation, and communication.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to weigh legal risks against commercial goals.

• Capacity to operate both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• High level of integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and a practical, solution-focused approach.
