This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +8 more states.
• Take charge of application development execution at the sprint level, managing developer workload, sprint commitments, and backlog refinement.
• Oversee the development of systems for invoicing, disputes, outliers, and reconciliations.
• Lead the maintenance of legacy systems and supervise the development of business rules.
• Uphold code quality standards, ensuring at least 80% automated unit test coverage, conducting peer code reviews, secure code reviews, and implementing BDD/TDD practices.
• Deploy code through the CMS CI/CD pipeline and manage releases with the CMS Change Control Board.
• Provide mentorship to Senior and mid-level Java/AWS developers.
• Carry out code reviews, uphold coding standards, and promote the reduction of technical debt.
• Assist in AI-assisted development using CMS-approved tools and contribute to the AI Use Case Inventory.
• Engage in PI Planning, sprint ceremonies, and demo presentations for CMS stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development.
• At least 3 years in a technical lead or team lead capacity.
• Proficient in Java development.
• Strong skills in Python.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI or AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with GitHub, Jenkins/CloudBees, JFrog Artifactory/XRay, SonarQube, and Snyk within CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Pytest, UnitTest, and database testing with DBFit/FitNesse.
• Proven experience in enforcing an 80% test coverage requirement.
• Proficient with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, SQS, and API Gateway.
• Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and PI Planning.
• Ability to pass CMS and internal background checks for public trust.
• Must reside in one of the designated hiring states: Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Tennessee, Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, or Texas.
