Senior Java Engineer – Enterprise Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, and implement enterprise Java applications that ensure high availability and fault tolerance.

• Develop clean, secure, and optimized Java code for scalable backend services and APIs.

• Create and scale architectures for distributed microservices.

• Construct and integrate APIs, backend services, and orchestration components for enterprise applications, automation, Chatbot, and Voicebot projects.

• Update legacy applications and transition to scalable architectures.

• Enhance data models, database performance, and application services across both relational and NoSQL databases.

• Oversee and automate secure deployment pipelines in AWS cloud, utilizing DevOps methodologies.

• Conduct code reviews, uphold engineering standards, and provide mentorship to engineering team members.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, AI, architecture, and product development.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10 years of professional experience in backend software engineering with a strong emphasis on Java development.

• Demonstrated experience with large-scale distributed systems, enterprise applications, or SaaS products.

• Significant experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Proven track record of modernizing legacy systems and migrating monolithic applications to microservices architectures.

• Extensive experience in developing APIs, integrations, and backend services.

• Familiarity with incorporating AI/ML capabilities into enterprise applications.

• Understanding of AI, Generative AI, and conversational AI concepts.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong troubleshooting skills at the system level.

• Ability to work independently and navigate through ambiguity.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly with engineering, AI, architecture, and product teams.

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

• Experience with Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate ORM, JPA.

• Knowledge of Microservices, Event Driven Architecture, CQRS, Saga pattern, and Domain-Driven Design.

• Skilled in REST APIs, API gateways, third-party API integrations, and enterprise integration patterns.

• Familiar with PostgreSQL, Oracle DB, Couchbase, and Apache Kafka.

• Proficient in AWS, Azure or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins or GitLab CI.

• Experience with JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, Maven or Gradle.
