Senior Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the transition of legacy monolithic applications to microservices built on Java.

• Architect, develop, and sustain RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

• Deploy and oversee applications within AWS Kubernetes environments.

• Enhance database performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Create secure, production-ready applications utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.

• Enforce authentication, authorization, and secure coding methodologies.

• Facilitate integrations with internal, external, and third-party systems.

• Utilize AI-driven development tools, such as GitHub Copilot.

• Engage in production support and participate in on-call rotations.

• Guide engineers while actively contributing to development tasks.

• Direct the design, development, and modernization of scalable Java-centric microservices and APIs in a cloud-native setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in Java development.

• In-depth knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and REST APIs.

• Proven experience in transforming legacy applications into microservices architectures.

• Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational database systems.

• Understanding of OAuth and best practices in application security.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting, leadership, and communication.

• Capability to mentor engineers while staying engaged in development activities.

• Must possess authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Must have resided continuously in the United States for the past three consecutive years.

• Must successfully complete a government suitability review and background check.

• Preferred: Experience in migrating Ruby applications to Java.

• Preferred: Experience in federal government or healthcare IT sectors.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AWS cloud services and CI/CD pipelines.
