Senior IT Systems Engineer, IT Innovation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement intricate, mission-critical automations and integrations that connect Spring Health's essential systems, including AI-driven and agentic workflows.

• Select technical methods for innovative challenges, document repeatable processes, and provide recommendations along with options, risks, and tradeoffs.

• Detect and address foundational issues such as fragile integrations, workflow deficiencies, and ambiguous data agreements.

• Build reusable patterns, shared components, and agent building blocks, while promoting their adoption throughout the IT department.

• Provide guidance on technical principles related to authentication, error management, agent permissions, testing, and standards in collaboration with Security and Compliance.

• Manage monitoring, alerting, and incident response for production automations and agents.

• Act as an escalation point for IT Systems Engineers and serve as the ultimate escalation contact within IT Innovations.

• Collaborate across the organization on integration design and cultivate relationships with vendors and platform partners.

• Foster engineer development through design reviews, collaborative work, training, and shared documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in automation, integration, or IT systems engineering, with a proven record of delivering vital automations.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Workato is preferred — including recipe design, API integrations, and error management — or another integration platform as a service (iPaaS) such as Boomi, MuleSoft, Tray, or n8n.

• Proven experience in integrating enterprise systems including identity and access management, human resources, ticketing, and finance via APIs, webhooks, and event-driven methodologies.

• A history of designing reusable patterns that have been adopted by fellow engineers.

• Practical experience in creating AI-powered and agentic workflows within a governed framework.

• Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as Python.

• Confidence in selecting and justifying technical solutions for unfamiliar challenges.

• Experience collaborating with engineering and security teams on technical design and establishing vendor relationships.

• Ability to influence without formal authority and assist in the development of less experienced engineers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Workato or similar iPaaS certification is advantageous.
