This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +6 more countries.
• Act as the hands-on technical owner of the BillingPlatform environment, setting up catalogs, pricing cards, usage rating rules, and automated invoicing schedules.
• Take responsibility for ongoing platform health, which includes system updates, pricing launches, troubleshooting recurring bill runs, managing sync exceptions, and resolving root-cause issues.
• Utilize SQL for data validation, auditing the rating engine, and producing operational reports.
• Collaborate with the Engineering team to obtain mediated usage data through systems like DigitalRoute or Kafka.
• Sustain and enhance API-driven integrations between BillingPlatform, upstream CRMs such as Salesforce, downstream ERP/GL tools like NetSuite, and payment gateways including Stripe.
• Work alongside the Accounting team to ensure that rating rules, revenue schedules, and general ledger mappings meet ASC 606 and IFRS 15 compliance standards.
• Collect technical and operational requirements from Accounting, Finance, Sales Operations, and Product teams, translating them into sustainable platform configurations.
• Maintain continuity of billing data and manage subscription data updates or migrations without causing disruptions to financial operations or revenue recognition processes.
• Serve as the technical liaison connecting Finance, Product, and Engineering departments.
• Assist with the launch of new pricing models, complex usage rating schemes, and financial system integrations while improving platform performance and automation.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in configuring and managing enterprise Quote-to-Cash or billing platforms (e.g., Zuora, Salesforce Revenue Cloud/CPQ, NetSuite Billing, Aria Systems, or BillingPlatform).
• Strong expertise in SQL for querying and auditing billing data.
• A solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and ETL workflows.
• Experience in supporting complex SaaS or infrastructure pricing models, including PLG, hybrid commitment-plus-usage, tiered rates, and consumption-based/metered billing.
• Practical knowledge of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606 / IFRS 15) and how accounting regulations influence billing engine design.
• Capability to translate technical language into financial business logic while working with engineering teams and accounting stakeholders.
• Methodical in diagnosing system synchronization errors, rating discrepancies, and integration edge cases.
• Legally authorized to work in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, or the United States.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Bonus: Familiarity with DigitalRoute mediation software or Kafka event-stream data intake.
• Bonus: Previous experience with cloud infrastructure, PaaS, or metrics related to developer-platform usage.
