This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the lead Power Apps developer, responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining canvas and/or model-driven applications for data entry, workflow routing, and approvals.
• Create workflow-driven screens and forms for analysts, training coordinators, and approvers, collaborating closely with the HCD SME.
• Design and implement data flows from Power Apps into the SQL Server backend.
• Work alongside the Senior Data Engineer Lead on the SQL Server schema and data model.
• Develop Power Automate workflows that link Power Apps to SQL Server, SharePoint, and various other data sources.
• Implement notifications, approvals, escalations, and status tracking functionalities.
• Collaborate with the Senior Data Scientist and Front-End Developer to ensure reliable Power BI reporting.
• Enforce role-based access and security within Power Apps and Dataverse/SharePoint, adhering to VA security, FISMA, and Section 508 standards.
• Maintain and improve existing Power Apps solutions while addressing requests for new forms or workflow features.
• Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validation processes, develop test cases, and manage defect and change-request resolutions.
• Document application architecture, data flows, and workflow logic; oversee version control and change management processes.
• Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions and promote stakeholder adoption.
• Stay updated on Power Platform capabilities, identifying opportunities for workflow, data-entry, performance, and usability enhancements.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data science, or a related discipline.
• Over 8 years of experience in application/data systems development.
• Proven expertise in developing enterprise-grade Power Apps solutions (canvas and/or model-driven).
• Extensive experience in designing and building workflow-driven interfaces using Power Apps and Power Automate, which includes forms, approval workflows, notifications, and status tracking.
• Familiarity with constructing Power Apps designed to enhance Power BI reporting pipelines, including data model structuring, clean input interfaces, refresh performance, and data quality best practices.
• Experience in architecting Power Apps solutions that write and push data into a SQL Server database; working knowledge of SQL is essential.
• Ability to convert business and program workflows into functional app requirements and user-friendly interfaces for non-technical end users.
• Understanding of federal data governance and accessibility standards, including FISMA compliance, data security requirements, and Section 508 (WCAG 2.0 AA) accessible design.
• Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• LMI will only consider candidates who possess security clearances or are eligible for such clearances.
• Preferred: Experience in supporting VA or VHA data and workflow systems.
• Preferred: Familiarity with VHA source systems such as TMS 2.0, HRSmart, or SharePoint Online.
• Preferred: Experience with Dataverse/Common Data Service, including entity/table design and relationships.
• Preferred: Knowledge of HCD, HSI, or UX methods.
• Preferred: Proficiency in Power FX and Power Automate expressions.
• Preferred: Experience with custom JSON formatting for SharePoint list views.
• Preferred: Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
