Senior IT Systems Engineer

📋 Description

• Take charge of IT systems engineering for corporate infrastructure by designing, implementing, and managing reliable and secure systems that support Lucidworks operations while adhering to enterprise IT standards.

• Innovate and enhance Lucidworks IT infrastructure, covering aspects like identity management, endpoint management, network architecture, and SaaS integration, with an emphasis on scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

• Establish a high standard for system reliability and configuration quality through thorough documentation, peer review of infrastructure modifications, and actively mitigating technical debt in the systems you oversee. Proactively address design and security concerns.

• Ensure the operational health of systems within your domain by contributing to SLA and uptime objectives, maintaining monitoring and alerting systems, participating in incident response, and driving improvements post-incident to avoid future occurrences.

• Collaborate with IT leadership, security teams, and business stakeholders to plan and execute infrastructure projects, clearly communicating technical limitations, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Utilize Gen AI tools to enhance systems administration, scripting, and documentation tasks, exercising judgment to critically assess AI-generated outputs while safeguarding sensitive credentials and infrastructure information from AI tools.

• Offer guidance and knowledge-sharing to fellow IT staff and serve as an escalation point for intricate systems issues. Promote a culture of documentation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to manage the deployment, maintenance, integration, and troubleshooting of all corporate systems, including hardware, software, and networking; responsible for developing and designing network architecture and computer systems infrastructure.

• Ability to ensure adherence to IT security policies and procedures; enhance the organization's security posture through responsible administration, access management, and secure system configuration.

• Expertise in applying knowledge of IT security policies and compliance standards across corporate systems; maintains compliance through well-documented processes, system configurations, and access controls.

• Extensive experience with virtualization, cloud computing, and containerization technologies; administer enterprise systems across both cloud and on-premise environments; manage Linux and Windows server infrastructure.

• Proficiency in collaborating with management and internal partners to identify and implement sustainable IT solutions that fulfill business requirements; provide technical support and guidance throughout the organization.

• Skill in translating complex scripting, automation, and documentation requirements into clear AI prompts to enhance IT engineering workflows, exercising sound judgment regarding sensitive system credentials and infrastructure details that should not enter any AI tool.
