Senior IT Support Analyst, Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Design and develop Java applications along with web services.

• Build new applications while replacing outdated systems that cater to both public and internal users.

• Maintain and enhance existing Java web applications to ensure functionality aligns with user needs.

• Create web applications utilizing Java web frameworks, ideally EJB and JSF.

• Develop web applications and APIs leveraging PostgreSQL for data storage and querying.

• Implement user authentication for external users and systems through OAuth2 or OpenAM.

• Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines on Amazon Web Services.

• Ensure compliance with agency data security standards and utilize approved encryption techniques.

• Analyze user needs, define business goals, and implement necessary application features and functionalities.

• Collaborate with application developers, engineers, and subject matter experts to fulfill project requirements.

• Research alternative technologies and present findings for architectural consideration.

• Work remotely, with the flexibility to be on-site as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15 years of experience in Java Core, Java EE (JEE), Java Persistence API (JPA), and Java Persistence Query Language (JPQL).

• 5 years of experience with Java Server Faces (JSF) and PrimeFaces.

• 10 years of experience with PostgreSQL SQL and PL/pgSQL.

• 5 years of experience with development processes in Cloud and Amazon Web Services.

• 5 years of experience with Java RESTful web services.

• Understanding and application of WCAG compatibility.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

• Preferred experience with EMSA and compatibility with the DPHIP team.

• Preferred experience with Maven, GitHub, and Agile development methodologies.

• Preferred familiarity with JUnit, Arquillian, or similar testing frameworks.

• Preferred experience in Java automated testing with Selenium and application load testing using Apache JMeter or equivalent.

• Preferred experience with JIRA and CI/CD practices.

• Preferred experience in database schema design.
