Senior IT Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical architecture for IT Tooling automations, influencing design decisions regarding system structure, integration patterns, and platform standards across n8n, Airflow, Temporal, and Jira.

• Oversee the most intricate automation projects from start to finish as the technical Directly Responsible Individual (DRI), managing everything from discovery and design to production delivery.

• Collaborate with Security, Corporate Engineering, and IAM teams to address technical obstacles and advocate for IT Tooling in cross-functional architecture discussions.

• Develop shared frameworks, reusable components, and architecture documentation that minimize single points of failure while enhancing the team’s engineering standards.

• Implement code review practices and engineering standards that improve quality across the IT Tooling platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years in IT engineering, automation, or systems engineering, demonstrating ownership of architectural decisions and platform-level systems that others rely on.

• Extensive experience in creating and maintaining complex automations using n8n, Airflow, Temporal, Jira Automation, or Workato, along with strong Git-based development practices (branching, CI/CD, code review).

• Proficient knowledge of Okta, Slack API, and Google Workspace administration, enabling the design of secure, scalable automation architecture.

• Proven capability to work independently in ambiguous situations, translating loosely defined problems into production-ready technical specifications and clear records of architectural decisions.

• Experience in mentoring colleagues and producing technical design documentation aimed at both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Employs generative AI responsibly, ensuring human oversight to deliver business-ready outcomes and facilitate measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
