Senior IOS Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of iOS features from technical design through implementation, testing, release, and production monitoring.

• Create accessible, responsive, and reliable mobile interfaces by employing modern iOS development methodologies.

• Develop and sustain integrations with APIs, authentication systems, local data storage, and background processes.

• Identify and resolve crashes, concurrency issues, memory challenges, and performance bottlenecks.

• Contribute to the application architecture while enhancing development tools and processes.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

• Engage in code reviews and offer constructive technical feedback.

• Mentor fellow engineers and foster a collaborative engineering culture.

• Partake in a defined production-support or on-call rotation.

• Collaborate closely with backend, Android, QA, Product, and Design teams.

• Report directly to the Mobile Engineering Manager or Head of Engineering.

• Familiarize yourself with the existing iOS architecture, development practices, product roadmap, and release process.

• Deliver a tested feature or significant production enhancement.

• Enhance a critical reliability or development bottleneck and contribute to a prioritized technical improvement strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant expertise in building and deploying native iOS applications.

• Strong proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI and/or UIKit.

• Solid understanding of the iOS application lifecycle, concurrency, networking, and API integration.

• Experience in writing and maintaining automated tests for mobile applications.

• Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and resolving production issues, including crashes, memory challenges, and performance bottlenecks.

• Knowledge of mobile security, accessibility, application signing, CI/CD, and App Store release processes.

• Capability to independently design, develop, debug, test, and maintain production-quality software.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Experience in software development both with and without the aid of agentic or generative AI coding tools.

• Proficiency in effectively utilizing coding assistants and AI agents while ensuring engineering quality.

• Ability to independently assess, debug, and validate AI-generated code.

• Responsibility for the correctness, security, performance, and maintainability of production code.

• Understanding of how to safeguard proprietary code, credentials, and sensitive information when utilizing AI development tools.
