Senior iOS Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and enhance Epic's native iOS application for both iPhone and iPad, utilizing a well-established Swift and Objective-C codebase.

• Manage the reading experience, which includes the proprietary book renderer and audio-text synchronization that aligns narration with word-level highlighting.

• Oversee offline reading capabilities, in-app purchases, and the release process for the App Store.

• Improve the app's performance, stability, and overall quality.

• Collaborate with Android, backend, and web teams on shared features.

• Transition into a cross-platform mobile engineer by gaining proficiency in Android/Kotlin and contributing to both applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in building and deploying native iOS applications to the App Store.

• Proficient in Swift and UIKit.

• Comfortable working within a mixed codebase of Swift and Objective-C.

• Demonstrated expertise in custom UI/text rendering and/or real-time media-audio synchronization.

• Experience with concurrency and ensuring thread safety.

• Familiarity with local data persistence.

• Knowledge of in-app purchases.

• Experience managing a release pipeline, including CI, code signing, TestFlight, and App Store submission.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• Understanding of SwiftUI and Swift Concurrency (async/await).

• Familiarity with AVCadence for audio-text synchronization.

• Experience with encrypted media playback.

• Accessibility experience with VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, and WCAG standards.

• Interest in cross-platform mobile development with some awareness of Android/Kotlin.
