This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise and evaluate U.S. Statutory (NAIC), U.S. GAAP, regulatory, tax, and/or Board financial reporting for the Insurance Company’s separate accounts, subsidiaries, and affiliates.
• Prepare and assess quarterly and annual statutory NAIC state financial reports, supplements, annual audited financial statements, and surveys.
• Facilitate investment presentations in quarterly financial statements.
• Investigate and suggest new disclosures and modifications to reports in response to emerging pronouncements, guidelines, and investment categories.
• Analyze new pronouncements and guidelines from authoritative bodies concerning U.S. Statutory, U.S. GAAP, and various regulations.
• Propose necessary adjustments to accounting systems and the presentation of information.
• Explore and identify process enhancements and system improvements that support internal and external reporting initiatives.
• Assist in the implementation of new processes and projects.
• Manage investment audits and clarify the Company’s stance.
• Oversee the reporting database and make necessary modifications.
• Address ad-hoc reporting inquiries, including interpreting requests, professionally formatting outcomes, and elucidating findings.
• Reconcile and investigate ledger balances for accuracy across multiple systems.
• Draft U.S. GAAP Annual Registered Financial Statements.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• 4-6 years of experience in financial reporting is required.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with various reporting systems such as Blackline, EASY, SAP, PAM, Phoenix, and Unit Value Cloud.
• Experience in public accounting or investment-related financial reporting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. Statutory (NAIC) and/or GAAP accounting principles.
• Previous investment experience is strongly preferred.
• Excellent technical and analytical abilities, with effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Ability to engage in creative thinking to enhance business processes and internal controls, following through from design to implementation.
• Attention to detail, analytical skills, and exceptional organizational abilities to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks.
• Self-motivated with the capacity to navigate ambiguity, a willingness to learn, and the readiness to take on additional responsibilities.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• A mindset geared towards process improvement.
• Experience with Alteryx and Wings annual statement software is a plus.
• Familiarity with the Workiva reporting system and WDesk is advantageous.
