Senior Business Intelligence Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Achieve business intelligence goals by developing information delivery and data analytics solutions.

• Conduct independent analysis, design, and development of business intelligence and analytics solutions.

• Generate reports, dashboards, and various components related to business intelligence.

• Create new data assets or information exchanges that enhance decision-support applications and analytics solutions.

• Assess effort levels and task dependencies with team members.

• Offer technical expertise on database tables, objects, assets, and cubes utilizing dimensional modeling and best practices in normal-form.

• Lead the establishment of data marts as necessary.

• Train and mentor staff in business intelligence, analytics, and programming on technologies, design strategies, standards, and best practices.

• Work with developers to enhance scalability, performance, and maintainability.

• Investigate and assess business intelligence, analytics, and data visualization technologies.

• Select suitable technologies while considering future trends, risk, consistency, and return on investment.

• Develop architecture and design documentation for new development projects.

• Evaluate incoming projects to check if existing technologies and capabilities meet requirements.

• Design, create, and maintain metadata layers that represent physical data structures.

• Assist in the analysis, design, and development of reports, dashboards, and data sources through consultation, coaching, mentoring, or independent efforts.

• Communicate with both internal and external clients to facilitate analysis and resolve production issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in business intelligence, focusing on business or systems analysis and design concepts.

• A bachelor’s degree in business intelligence, management information systems, mathematics, statistics, analytics, computer and information sciences, or a related field is required, or an equivalent of three or more years of direct experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or statistics in place of a degree.

• Proficiency in writing basic queries using standard query languages.

• Understanding of business analysis principles and project management methodologies.

• Capability to quickly learn and implement new technologies while considering business requirements and direction.

• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools/environments.

• Working knowledge of concepts related to data warehousing and business intelligence.

• Comprehension of dimensional and relational data modeling and warehousing strategies.

• Proven ability in overseeing project scope definition.

• Experience in managing small to midsize projects to completion.

• Adherence to security responsibilities, controls, legal, regulatory, contractual requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures.
