Senior Investigation Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations into insider trading, coordinated wallet activities, spoofing, and other market integrity issues from the initial signal to a comprehensive and defensible conclusion.

• Trace wallets, funding streams, and transaction histories utilizing tools like Chainalysis to uncover coordination and validate hypotheses.

• Analyze spoofing, layering, and related order-book manipulation employing trade-surveillance tools such as Eventus/Validus along with on-chain evidence.

• Assess and respond to subpoenas and legal processes, evaluating risk and sensitivity while adhering to strict deadlines.

• Prepare investigative reports and findings for leadership, law enforcement, or external counsel.

• Remain updated on manipulation and fraud patterns as prediction markets and the underlying blockchain ecosystem develop.

• Act as a liaison for law enforcement and regulatory inquiries regarding suspicious activities.

• Manage investigations from start to finish, constructing cases from initial signals to documented findings.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7+ years of investigative experience in trade surveillance, market structure or regulation, blockchain forensics, financial crimes, law enforcement, or a similar field that involves constructing cases from ambiguous evidence.

• Proficient understanding of order-book mechanics and manipulation techniques, including spoofing, layering, and wash trading, or blockchain analysis and on-chain typologies; ideally both.

• Direct experience with blockchain analysis tools such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs, or Elliptic, or trade-surveillance platforms like Eventus/Validus or Nasdaq SMARTS.

• Proven ability to build a case from limited initial indicators and document it in a manner clear enough to act upon.

• Strong judgment in evaluating and responding to legal and regulatory requests under tight deadlines.

• Comfort with ambiguity.

• Experience with prediction markets or other crypto-native platforms is advantageous.

• Proficiency in SQL or Python for testing hypotheses against trade or on-chain data is a plus.

• Previous experience serving as a point of contact for law enforcement or regulatory bodies is a bonus.
