This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver interior design services for hospital projects by creating comprehensive interior design (CID) packages, from conceptualization to procurement and installation, encompassing furniture fixtures & equipment (FF&E), artwork, and signage.
• Supervise, review, and coordinate all interior design efforts.
• Oversee and manage vendor installations at the project site.
• Monitor the completion of resolutions and ensure technical compliance for all interior design-related action items and tasks associated with the project.
• Verify that products and materials meet the standards set by medical military construction (MedMILCON), the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), and Veteran Administration (VA) regulations, including all relevant standards and guidelines.
• Facilitate coordination between clients and end-users as needed to ensure safety and regulatory compliance (ABA and Joint Commission standards) within departmental and clinical areas, aligning with equipment plans, furniture plans, specifications, and workflows according to the concept of operations (CONOPS).
• Provide technical advice and recommendations to leadership and end-users concerning interior design issues, including advancements in technology, product innovations, adaptability, and process enhancements.
• Offer support and guidance related to the goals and objectives of the Defense Health Agency (DHA), VA Office of Construction, Facilities & Maintenance (CFM), and/or Military Health System (MHS) regarding patient-centered care, evidence-based design (EBD), and leadership in energy & environmental design (LEED) standards.
• Serve as the design 'vision keeper' for project goals and objectives, educating users and preserving the overall design intent throughout the project's duration.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and Transition Manager on planning, movement, and transition activities as they pertain to interior design and FF&E objectives.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Provide oversight to the production team and junior to mid-level design staff.
• Bachelor's degree in interior design/architecture.
• National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification or American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID) certification.
• Preferred 5 years of experience in healthcare-related interior design.
• Required proficiency in CAD and Revit software.
• Proven experience in healthcare operations, including knowledge of furniture, fixtures, casework/case goods, and signage, with the ability to translate requirements into design/construction/installation documents.
• Preferred experience with VA/DoD medical facilities.
• Preferred experience with 3-D computer software.
