This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico, +2 more states.
β’ Oversee projects throughout the entire instructional design lifecycle, including scoping, research, analysis, design, development, implementation, and launch.
β’ Create project timelines, update stakeholders on progress, and establish success metrics.
β’ Collaborate with program owners and subject matter experts to pinpoint performance gaps, learning objectives, learner requirements, and evaluation strategies.
β’ Conduct discovery sessions, requirements-gathering meetings, and task analyses.
β’ Design and produce storyboards, scripts, interactive eLearning tutorials, simulations, user guides, videos, audio content, assessments, activities, facilitator guides, participant materials, and train-the-trainer resources.
β’ Manage various projects while balancing conflicting priorities and deadlines.
β’ Represent the learner's perspective to ensure that solutions are engaging, effective, and performance-oriented.
β’ Create learning materials that comply with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards, including VPAT documentation.
β’ Modify processes to meet the requirements of both private and public sectors, documentation standards, and contractual obligations.
β’ Assist in customer meetings, onsite visits, program assessments, and client relationship management as needed.
β’ Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design.
β’ Strong grasp of adult learning theory and performance-oriented learning strategies.
β’ Ability to swiftly transition from analysis to design and development in self-paced learning environments.
β’ Experience in facilitating brainstorming sessions and collecting requirements from stakeholders and subject matter experts.
β’ Proficient in designing storyboards, scripts, and wireframes for sophisticated eLearning authoring tools.
β’ Familiarity with Articulate Storyline, Lectora, CenarioVR, Unity (VR), and multimedia development software.
β’ Knowledge in designing instructor-led training (ILT) and virtual instructor-led training (VILT).
β’ Experience in creating slide presentations, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and train-the-trainer resources.
β’ Strong project and time management capabilities, with the ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects.
β’ Skill in simplifying complex technical concepts into engaging, learner-friendly content using clear language and visuals.
β’ Experience in conducting quality assurance reviews of online learning materials.
β’ Proven commitment to ongoing learning and up-to-date instructional design methodologies.
β’ Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
β’ Working knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, including remediation of existing learning content.
β’ U.S. citizenship and ability to successfully pass a federal background check.
β’ Preferred: residing in Texas, New Mexico, or Oklahoma; candidates from across the continental U.S. will be considered.
β’ Preferred: experience with federal, military, state government, or higher education institutions.
β’ Preferred: active or recently held Secret Clearance (or higher).
β’ Preferred: military service or prior experience with U.S. government civilian roles.
β’ Preferred: experience in developing learning solutions using Lectora and CenarioVR.
β’ Approximately 25% travel requirement.
