Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Trading

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage low-latency, event-driven trading systems that encompass matching, order entry, risk management, and market data across both cloud and colocated environments.

• Take ownership of the reliability and accuracy of production systems that process high-throughput financial data continuously, 24/7.

• Address incidents and design failover systems to ensure operational continuity.

• Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, and senior engineering leadership to transform strategy into quarterly deliverables and well-defined milestones.

• Drive technical design choices, create clear proposals, and foster consensus among peers and technical leads.

• Write high-quality, thoroughly tested performance-critical backend code using Java, C++, or Go.

• Develop and manage systems that support Coinbase’s institutional exchange, including matching engines, order management, market data, and funding rate calculations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience (minimum of 60 months).

• Hands-on experience with the ownership of large-scale production trading, exchange, or financial infrastructure systems.

• Strong proficiency in a backend programming language such as Java, C++, or Go.

• Experience with performance tuning for JVM or Linux systems tailored to latency-sensitive applications.

• Proven history of designing and maintaining highly reliable distributed systems that manage substantial volumes while adhering to strict correctness and uptime standards (24/7).

• Experience collaborating with Product and cross-functional teams to define and deliver complex technical projects within established timelines.

• A genuine interest in cryptocurrency and institutional markets, with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly.

• Responsible use of generative AI under human supervision.
