Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, automate, secure, and provide support for cloud infrastructure and platform services utilized by ESCS.

• Construct and manage secure, reusable cloud foundations and environments.

• Automate the delivery of infrastructure to enhance developer workflows effectively.

• Integrate reliability, observability, identity, and security controls into the platform.

• Design, provision, and maintain Azure and/or AWS infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code.

• Implement network, compute, storage, identity, secrets, and platform services.

• Support landing-zone controls, subscription/account structures, and environmental separation.

• Develop and sustain deployment pipelines and platform automation.

• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, recovery, and capacity controls.

• Provide support for containers and orchestration platforms as necessary.

• Apply patching, vulnerability remediation, configuration, and change controls.

• Produce technical documentation, runbooks, and support evidence aligned with architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Azure and/or AWS infrastructure engineering.

• Experience with Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools.

• Knowledge of cloud networking, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.

• Familiarity with identity and access management.

• Skills in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar automation languages.

• Understanding of CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.

• Experience with monitoring, observability, and operational diagnostics.

• Awareness or hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of cloud security controls and policy enforcement.

• Experience with backup, resilience, recovery, and service management.

• Proven track record in delivering and supporting production cloud infrastructure.

• Experience in automating infrastructure and configuration processes.

• Ability to diagnose complex platform, network, or identity issues.

• Experience in producing maintainable technical documentation and working within controlled change processes.

• SC clearance is required to commence and fulfill the role.
