Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Postgres

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee reliability and operations for ClickHouse’s Postgres integration, which encompasses upgrades, patching, maintenance, and scaling.

• Create and implement automation for provisioning, deployments, and service lifecycle management across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

• Develop infrastructure-as-code using Terraform along with modern CI/CD tools.

• Contribute Go-based tools and services to enhance automation, observability, and the developer experience.

• Take ownership of observability and monitoring, which includes alerting, metrics, and tracing across various environments.

• Lead incident management and postmortem practices.

• Collaborate with platform, networking, and product teams to enhance service operability.

• Mentor and empower engineers as customer adoption increases.

• Build and manage the foundation for ClickHouse’s Postgres integration across multiple cloud service providers.

• Shape operational practices and automation for managing databases in the cloud.

• Write production code, influence architectural decisions, and scale a high-impact platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.

• Proven experience in managing distributed, production-grade systems.

• Strong understanding of Postgres operations, scaling, and performance tuning.

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS.

• Familiarity with GCP and Azure.

• Experience with multi-cloud architectures.

• Proficient with Terraform, Kubernetes, and container-based infrastructure.

• Strong Go development skills or a willingness to write and manage production Go code.

• Familiar with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, or their equivalents.

• Comprehensive understanding of SLOs, incident response, and continuous improvement in service reliability.

• Hands-on, resourceful, and autonomous mindset.
