Senior Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Administer and enhance VMware virtualization environments (vSphere/vCenter), focusing on cluster lifecycle, resource management, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.

• Sustain and support production PostgreSQL and MongoDB database environments.

• Oversee enterprise SAN, block, and file storage infrastructure, which includes capacity planning, performance diagnostics, and array maintenance.

• Manage and secure Ubuntu/Debian Linux servers across both production and staging environments.

• Supervise Commvault enterprise backup and recovery solutions, incorporating retention policies, automation, and disaster recovery testing.

• Automate operational workflows and standardize infrastructure utilizing Ansible, Bash, Python, and Git with an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approach.

• Support Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) initiatives.

• Engage in a structured on-call rotation to ensure high availability of critical systems.

• Collaborate with platform, security, and development teams.

• Maintain, automate, and scale core on-premises and hybrid infrastructure encompassing virtualization, storage, Linux, and database clusters.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering (on-premise / data center / hybrid environments).

• Extensive technical expertise in VMware vSphere and vCenter administration and troubleshooting.

• Operational experience with database clusters (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) — including maintenance, replication, backup/restore, and health monitoring.

• Strong practical skills in Linux (Debian/Ubuntu) — performance diagnostics, security hardening, and log analysis.

• Proven experience with enterprise storage concepts (SAN, zoning, multipathing, performance tuning).

• Practical knowledge of enterprise backup platforms (Commvault preferred or equivalent).

• Hands-on skills in scripting and automation: Ansible, Bash or Python, along with version control (Git).

• Solid understanding of high-availability architectures and BCP/DR frameworks.

• Willingness to participate in paid on-call rotations and occasional travel to data centers.

• Proficient in technical English (spoken and written, minimum B2 level).

• Experience in high-availability, low-latency environments is an advantage.

• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible AWX, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

• Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure is a plus.

• Awareness of NIS2, ISO 27001, and GDPR is advantageous.

• VMware, Red Hat, storage, or backup certifications are beneficial.
